This is an interactive installation set against the backdrop of a charred forest captured through 3D scanning. White noise blankets this virtual space, replacing the sounds of nature and rendering auditory perception a vague memory. The absence of sound accentuates the dominance of vision in perception while inspiring an exploration of light as a sensory medium.
The flickering light of a candle becomes a dialogue between light and darkness, blurring and extending the boundaries of perception. The installation employs an Arduino light sensor to capture real-time variations in ambient light intensity, transmitting the data to Unreal Engine (UE) via sensors. This data drives the brightness adjustments of virtual lighting, enabling real-time interaction between physical light and virtual illumination. The work bridges the realms of the real and the virtual, perception and construction.
